"The P.2003 was the first automatic movement entirely designed and created by the Officine Panerai Manufacture in Neuchâtel. It is an automatic calibre of advanced technical content with an exceptionally long power reserve of 10 days, displayed on the dial by a linear indicator.
Made up of 296 components and with 25 jewels, the P.2003 calibre is 13¾ lignes in diameter with a thickness of 8 mm. It has all the technical characteristics which form the DNA of the P.2000 series (free-sprung balance wheel with inertia regulation; 28,800 alternations per hour; three spring barrels; GMT function with 24-hour indication; rapid adjustment of local time; date; balance wheel stop; seconds reset device) but it is distinguished by having automatic winding with a power reserve of 10 days, operated by an oscillating weight mounted on a ball bearing, which winds the springs of the barrels as it rotates in both direction"
