Reference 16528 and its steel counterpart, reference 16520, were introduced in 1988 as the modern era of the Daytona began. The reason we can pinpoint this as the start of the modern Daytona is the introduction of the automatic movement within the series and for these references, that meant caliber 4030. Produced by Zenith, these models are highly sought after today due to these movements that are based on the original automatic chronograph caliber, the El Primero.
