The Rolex GMT-Master 16700 was introduced in 1988. It was the last of the GMT-Master watches to have the fixed 24-hour hand; on the GMT-Master II's this hand could be adjusted separately.
The 16700 was available from 1988 to 1999 while at the time the 16710 was also available. Tritium was used for the luminous parts up to approximately 1998; after that luminova was used. It was only available in stainless steel. In the present configuration, it features a black dial and matching black bezel, accented by a red GMT hand.
